Changing the way we see textiles.
Changing the way we see textiles.
An old word gets a new life!
Fripper is an old word—centuries old, actually—for someone who dealt in old and secondhand clothing. Somewhere along the way, it fell out of use.
When we stumbled across it, we couldn’t resist giving it another life - After all, giving textiles another life is kind of our thing!
At FRIPPER, we help people and organizations reimagine what comes next for clothing and textiles they no longer need. Together, we find better ways to keep them in use, transform them into something new, or find an entirely different purpose.
FRIPPER offers hands-on textile workshops that give young people the chance to look closer, take things apart, experiment, and discover.
They explore how textiles are made, what they’re made from, and what they can become—sparking curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving along the way.
Let's explore what's possible.
A fripper once dealt in old and secondhand clothing. Today, Fripper is about seeing what’s still possible in the textiles we already have, and finding better ways to give them another life.
If you’re looking for a better way to handle textiles, interested in hosting a FRIPPER workshop, or simply have an idea you’d like to explore, we’d love to hear what you’re working on.
Bring us the idea, the challenge, or the textiles you don’t know what to do with, and let’s see what we can reimagine together!
