An old word gets a new life!
An old word gets a new life!
Fripper is a centuries-old word for someone who dealt in old and secondhand clothing. Eventually, the word fell out of use.
We thought it deserved another life.
At FRIPPER, recovery means looking at what's still there—its use, its materials, its possibilities—and finding its next-best life.
FRIPPER brings hands-on textile education into the community, inviting young people to look closer, take things apart, experiment, and solve problems.
What is this made of? Why was it made this way? Can it be repaired? Could someone else use it? What could the material become?
We’re teaching the next generation to see possibility where others might see waste.
